The cedar used in Alton's products has an inherent resistance to rot. If the cedar is not regularly retreated the colour will fade to a natural silvery-grey. This clear Treatment is formulated for Alton greenhouses with an added uV proctector to help keep the natural cedar colours for a little longer. Keeping the cedar treated also helps to reduce the brown staining that can occur as taninis are leached from the wood as it wets and drys out.

- For best results apply 2-3 coats
- Apply with brush, roller or solvent compatible low pressure sprayer (in calm conditions)
How much is required?
Coverage depends on many different factors including moisture content and cleanliness of the timber, but a rough guide to help you (based upon 2 coats) is given below.
1 litre treats 6 square metres of wood.
All models up to 20' long = 2.5 litres
Octagonal's models = 5 litres
Q. Just received clear cedar treatment. How do you undo cap. Stages 1 and 2 incomprehensible. Do you break inner cap links and unscrew?
A. They are like a medicine bottle where you push them from either side to break the seal then turn, also you have to peel a tab underneath the cap as well
Q. Hi, I have a cedar lodge which I treated with Tung oil last year but it’s not survived the winter well and I’m after a rich looking stain that will last a bit longer than the oil I used last year, what do you suggest ?

Great easy to use solution. We applied to an ex display cedar frame greenhouse prior to glazing. Quick drying, hopefully will provide protection from the elements for a few years. Also used on wooden outdoor furniture.

Using as a treatment on homemade bird houses. Quite thin, but easy to apply! Used 3 coats and water sitting or top of surface, very happy. Delivery and service good.
