This mechanical device is designed to automatically open and close a louvre vent, in response to temperature.
A wax-like substance, contained in the cylinder, expands with heat, operating a piston which opens the louvre via a linkage arm. As the temperature falls, the process reverses, and a spring closes the louvre. There is also an adjustment knob, which enables the opening temperature to be altered to between 15 and 25 degrees centigrade.
Some simple drilling is required to fit the opener to the side of the louvre vent.

Q. Can these auto vents be used with a double opening window, should I buy 2 of them?
A. A double sized (1200mm + wide) single vent would require 2 of these Auto-vents. I would recommend the stronger BAYLISS XL auto-vent openers for a large vent like this for extra reliablity during windy conditions.

Window Louvre works well and is fairly easy to install. Delivery was a bit longer than I would have liked but perhaps we are all too accustomed to Amazon’s next day service.

Great little product that works as described. It needs a bit of drilling to get the opener in the correct position on the louvre frame but not difficult. It works perfectly and did i need both openers last weekend after 34'C. Buy as you will not be disappointed.
