These super new cold frames are ideal to run along the outside of your greenhouse.
Cold frames are ideal for 'hardening off' plants in the spring to avoid them being knocked back (where they just stop growing for a month) by the sudden change from a warm greenhouse to outside.At first put the tender plants in with the lids closed, then after a few days open the lids to one of the two preset opening positions, then when the plants are used to that, slide off the lids completely so that the cold frame is just providing wind shelter.Finally- plant the hardened off plants in your garden.
Of course you can also use a cold frame to bring on salad plants etc in the winter or use them to protect plants form some pests.
Choice of 4' or 6' model (1340mm or 1960mm long) by 640mm
deep and the back height is 530mm.
Q. Is the glass included? If not how does one get the glass
A. Toughened glass is included and delivered with all Simplicity cold frames.
Q. Can the two lids be removed reasonably easily?
A. Yes they can easily be slid off to the side.
Q. How heavy is the assembled cold frame?
A. The coldframe once constructed would weigh approximately 25kg

A. Hello, there will be 2. A small crate for the glass about 4ft by 2ft and a long thin box about 4ft long, 1ft wide.
Q. Only one dimension I cant find. The height of the front entry?
A. Hello, the front is 504mm high.

Very well packaged. This is a well made product even though a little fiddly to assemble. Spent 15 minutes ensuring all parts were present. 2 small nuts missing but managed to find 2 in my man cave. I am sure company would have sent them if requested. Just ensure you look at all the instructions carefully before assembly.

Arrived on schedule. Fairly easy to construct. Frame can be made off site but glazing should be done in final position.

Fast delivery and the glass was very well packed. All parts present but no spare bolts/nuts etc so don't lose any. The latest instructions are clear and it helps a lot having the parts numbered. Nevertheless it took me quite a long time to build it from the parts supplied. I am happy with the finished result. It seems quite sturdy for an aluminium frame and glass is much better than styrene in the long run.

A very sound product, well made and solid, but they got the name wrong! Simple it isn't, unless you're good at puzzles - for a certain generation think Krypton Factor! The diagrams are not that easy to follow. Nevertheless, now its built I'm very pleased with the end result - just keep the swear box handy and the kids out of earshot!!
